Job Summary:

The Machine Learning Engineering Manager (EM) is a key leadership role responsible for managing a team of engineers and driving technical excellence within the organization. This role combines people management with technical expertise to ensure cross-project performance and cultivate a strong technical culture. The Machine Learning EM oversees the professional development of engineers, coordinates with project managers, and actively engages in technology research and innovation to promote continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management: Directly manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, feedback and support in their professional development and career path. Conduct regular performance reviews, set performance goals aligned with team’s professional development, and ensure the team's overall success and productivity. Lead Technical Interviews and assess hiring decisions for the Group Eng. Manager
  2. Project Coordination: Support Group Eng. Manager and Head of Delivery to assign engineers to projects and ensure those assignments are defined in time. Coordinate cross-project performance and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and achieve project goals.
  3. Technical Leadership: Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert, staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices within one or more subject areas. Share knowledge with the team and provide guidance on technical decision-making to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  4. Technology Research: Lead continuous research and evaluation of new technologies, tools, and methodologies that can enhance the team's performance and improve project outcomes. Recommend and implement innovative solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  5. Cultivate Technical Culture: Foster a strong technical culture within the engineering team, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of best practices. Promote a learning environment that encourages engineers to stay updated with the latest advancements in their field.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in the relevant domain.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members.
  • Good resource management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, help allocate resources, meet deadlines and set and manage expectations with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and project stakeholders.
  • Able to embody and cultivate company’s culture.
  • A passion for technology and a keen interest in staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
